Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to St Mary’s Church of England Primary School

We are a popular school situated in Stoke Newington, Hackney and have been serving the community and providing high quality education for over 450 years. We have 1 of each class from Nursery to Year 6 and believe that being a smaller school creates the ethos that we are proud of: friendly, welcoming and caring.

St Mary’s mission is to serve our community and to foster everyone’s potential and hunger for leaning. We feed not only the mind, but the body and spirit too, ensuring that when our children leave St Mary’s they have the skills, values and confidence needed to guide them through life.

We aspire to the spiritual values of love, kindness, courage, truth and hope; all embedded in the Christian faith and yet accessible to those of all faiths and none. Whilst Christianity is central to our life together we are an open and inclusive school, valuing all children’s faith journeys and developing the spirituality of each child.

We are committed to working in partnership with families and our local community, including St Mary’s Church, doing our utmost to make sure every child’s time with us is positive. Through a joint commitment, we live out our mission statement, “St Mary’s…. feeding the mind, body and spirit so we can be the best we can be.”

If you have the same shared values as us and believe, as we do, in the potential of your child, then why not get in touch.
