On Thursday 17th October year 3 visited the British Museum to learn all their current topic “Egypt”. Through an interactive presentation year 3 learned about the weighing of the heart, discovered how the spells and information in the Book of the Dead helped ancient Egyptians on their journey to the afterlife, and learnt about what they expected to find there.
The trip was a great opportunity for our pupils to gain a deeper insight into ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife, spells from the Book of the Dead, the Mummy in the tomb and right through to the Day of Judgment.
