Science Week January 2018

We are extremely grateful to scientists from Cambridge University who came to deliver workshops for year groups 1 – 6. The workshops were so much fun and interactive. The children took part in scientific activities such as observing oxygen created by leaves under a lamp. They looked closely at different flies through microscopes and were investigating the flies DNA. They were also creating protein blocks using Lego. We hope that this has inspired some of our children to be scientists in the future.

A big thank you, to John Walker (Grandfather of Lottie and Grace) who arranged this for us.

Also thank you to Penny Peck and volunteers at Cambridge university who took the time to work with the pupil at St Mary’s and help them to learn more about science.
