Over 1000 Hackney schoolchildren took to the roads for a mass ride around the borough on Wednesday 6 July.
They attempted to break the world record for the most people in a ‘bike bus’ in which the participants ride together along a set route, picking up people as they go.
Bike Around the Borough is organised by the Council and the Hackney Police Safer Transport Team to provide a chance for students to practice skills learned through national standards cycle training and to help them realise how easy it is to travel around the borough by bike.
